David has been working as a professional photographer for 14 years. While attending Napier University in Edinburgh he shot for DJ and Mixmag magazines, as well as major record labels while travelling extensively. He was soon commissioned work from UK design and advertising agencies, work he continues to this day. In addition, David is a full-time lecturer at Edinburgh’s Telford College where he teaches HND photography and digital imaging.
David has just completed an exhibition entitled ‘Enlightenment’ commissioned by Moredun Research Institute. The exhibition showcases the work of the research institutes forming the Knowledgescotland partnership, funded by the Scottish Government. Images from this exhibition can be viewed in Current Projects.
David is comfortable shooting on all camera formats, film or digital and is highly proficient in both the studio and on location. Commercially, he is presently being commissioned by Sportscotland to shoot for their library. Personally, he is working on a new series of images inspired by the work of photographers Michael Ackerman and Uta Barth. He aims to exhibit this work in Autumn 2010.
